We provide you with a return ferry ticket and a day pass for the Hop-on/hop-off Eastern Explorer as well as Western Explorer bus that runs between the most popular wineries on Waiheke Island.
The Western Explorer operates daily and features a loop with 15 stops, including renowned wineries such as Mudbrick, Cable Bay, Stonyridge, and Te Motu. Travellers can also explore Oneroa Village, relax on Onetangi Beach, and visit cultural sites like the Waiheke Community Art Gallery. The full loop takes approximately 80 minutes, with buses running every 20 minutes, allowing for flexible exploration throughout the day .
The Eastern Explorer, operating from Wednesday to Sunday (and daily from December 26), offers a 110-minute loop with five key stops: Man O’ War Vineyards, Passage Rock Wines, Awaroa Organic Winery, Waiheke Distilling Co., and the historic Stony Batter Tunnels. This tour provides access to the island’s more remote eastern side, showcasing scenic coastal views and unique attractions.
To make the most of your day, take the 9 am ferry from Auckland. Both Explorer buses depart from the Matiatia Ferry Terminal. The Western Explorer stops almost in front of your hotel while the Eastern Explorer stops a little bit further up.
